About Canisia:

Canisia Lubrin is a writer, editor and teacher. Her work has been published widely and is frequently anthologized, including translations into Spanish and Italian. Her work has received nominations for the Toronto Book Award, Journey Prize, Gerald Lampert, Pat Lowther, Raymond Souster, bpNichol and others. “The Origin of the Lullaby” is included in Code Noir, her in-progress collection of linked short stories. She is the author of the poetry collection Voodoo Hypothesis (Buckrider Books, 2017), named a CBC Best Book and The Dyzgraphxst (McClelland & Stewart, 2020). She holds an MFA from University of Guelph.

About David:

A writer, educator, poet, and critic, David Huebert’s work has won the CBC Short Story Prize, The Walrus Poetry Prize, and was a National Magazine Award nominee in 2017 and 2018. David’s fiction debut, Peninsula Sinking, won the Jim Connors Dartmouth Book Award, was shortlisted for the Alistair MacLeod Short Fiction Prize, and was runner-up for the Danuta Gleed Literary Award. In fall 2020, he will publish his second book of poems, Humanimus. David’s work has appeared in magazines such as The Walrus, The New Quarterly, Maisonneuve, and Canadian Notes & Queries. In 2018, David completed his PhD at Western University. He has taught writing, literature, and environmental humanities at Western University, Dalhousie University, and King’s University College. David lives, writes, and teaches in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in Mi’kma’ki.

David is represented by Stephanie Sinclair.

About Lisa:

Lisa Foad is working on a novel, titled Hunting, and a collection of short stories. Her book The Night Is A Mouth won the ReLit Award for short fiction and a Writers’ Trust of Canada Dayne Ogilvie Prize Honour of Distinction.
